We are delighted to invite you to the 8th International Scientific Conference on Business and Economics (ISCBE 2025), organized by the Faculty of Business and Economics at South-East European University, North Macedonia. ISCBE 2025 will take place on May 08-09, 2025, at South East European University, Tetovo, North Macedonia.

The 8th ISCBE provides a dynamic platform for discussing critical challenges in economic resilience and sustainability. This year’s theme explores the interplay between green and digital transformations, highlighting how businesses and economies can leverage technology and innovation to achieve sustainability goals. Key discussions will focus on sustainable business models, digital integration for green growth, economic policies for resilience, circular economy practices, and the role of finance in fostering sustainability. The conference will also address the impact of global economic tensions and competitive market struggles on sustainability efforts, offering strategies to navigate these complex challenges. 

We strongly encourage the active involvement of master’s and PhD students. This conference offers an excellent opportunity for students to engage with experienced researchers, present their work, and contribute to discussions shaping the future of business and information technologies.

Keynote Speakers

Christina Theodoraki is a Full professor in Entrepreneurship at IAE Aix-Marseille University. She is elected Program Chair at the Academy of Management, Entrepreneurship Division. She is an Advisory Board Member at the Institute for Development Strategies at Indiana University, a Research associate at the Chair of Entrepreneurship Territory Innovation (ETI) – IAE Paris-Sorbonne, Business Development Manager at the Entrepreneurial Ecosystem Research Network (EERN), Editor of  Small Business Economics, Associate editor of the Journal of Small Business Management, Management & Prospective – Gestion 2000, and Revue Internationale PME, and member of several editorial boards.


Abdylmenaf Bexheti is an Academician and Full Professor of Public Finance and Macroeconomics at the Faculty of Business and Economics, South East European University, Republic of North Macedonia. Dr. Bexheti has published five books (alone) and several books as a co-author, more than 50 research papers, 50 projects, and more than 250 analyses and columns in different newspapers. During 1996–1998, Dr. Bexheti was, firstly a Minister for Development and then a Minister for Transport and Communication in the Government of the Republic of Macedonia. He is also a full member of the Macedonian Academy of Science. His recent books are Public Finance (2nd edition) and Economic Development.


Besnik A. Krasniqi is a Fulbright Postdoctoral Scholar, holds MA and PhD in Economics from Staffordshire University (UK). He teaches Small Business and Entrepreneurship, Innovation Management, and Research Methods at University of Prishtina in graduate and postgraduate studies. His professional career spans teaching and research in entrepreneurship at Maastricht School of Management (the Netherlands), Indiana University (USA) and University of Michigan (USA), Staffordshire University (UK), State University of Tetovo (Macedonia), and Riinvest Institute for Development Research (Kosovo). He has authored several books, numerous research reports, and consultancy assignments. His research work in the area of entrepreneurship, firm growth, institutions, SME finance, informal economy, and transition and emerging economies appeared in international journals such as Entrepreneurship Theory and Practice, Small Business Economics, International Entrepreneurship and Management Journal, and Economic Systems. He is a full member of the Academy of Sciences and Arts, Republic of Kosovo.

All submitted papers to the respective journals will undergo the review process according to the journals’ policies. These journals are indexed in Scopus & ESCI Clarivate Analytics.

The ISCBE 2025 qualified papers, after the peer review process, will be published in the Springer ISCBE Proceedings Book, without any publication fee.

 This Springer’s proceedings series is indexed in Scopus.

For all Ph.D. and master’s students who will participate in the conference, without any additional fee, special issues will be organized and published by:

Submission Guidelines

One unique author should be registered for each paper or abstract accepted for presentation and publication.

One participant can be the author of one up to two papers. In case when a person is the author or co-author of more than one accepted paper, each paper must have at least one unique author registration to be accepted for conference presentation and publication. If multiple, same-single-author papers or abstracts are submitted and accepted, the registration fee must be paid for each of them in order to be scheduled for conference presentation and publication.

The Microsoft CMT service was used for managing the peer-reviewing process for this conference. This service was provided for free by Microsoft and they bore all expenses, including costs for Azure cloud services as well as for software development and support.

Review Policy & Proceedings

Submitted papers are subject to a double-blind review process which greatly assists in the elimination of any perception of bias for or against an author or institution based on “name” recognition, country, gender, etc. Papers are evaluated based on originality, clarity, methodological standards of a research paper, significance of their findings, and clarity of exposition. The double-blind review for papers to be published in sponsored journals will be conducted by the sponsored journal itself.

Conference proceedings include full-length papers that have successfully passed the review process or evaluation. The proceedings with be published by the renowned publisher SPRINGER in printed and electronic form and have all the features of an academic publication, including its own ISBN which introduces it into a fully refereed conference publication. 

Authors Guidelines

Authors are invited to submit full papers only. The paper’s length should be from 4,000 – 6,000 words. (Times New Roman, 12, single-spaced). The title page of the paper should include the author(s) affiliation, email, and a short biography (100 words).

“Meet the Editors” event will provide participants with insights into the publishing process, journal expectations, and best practices for academic publishing. “Project Networking” will serve as a platform for researchers and professionals to connect, explore collaboration opportunities, and discuss potential project partnerships.
